Privacy and Terms
The Growth Canopy (ABN 70 366 795 410) is operated by Felicity Scheltinga. By using this website or engaging my services, you agree to the following.
Your privacy
I comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What I collect and why
I collect your name, contact details, and information you share via forms or during sessions, so I can deliver coaching, respond to enquiries, process payments, and send session-related communications. Payment is processed securely via Stripe (I never store card details). I'll only send marketing with your consent, and every message includes a simple unsubscribe option.
Health-related or sensitive information (such as details about ADHD, neurodivergence, or emotional wellbeing) is only collected with your express consent, given verbally or in writing before coaching begins.

Who sees your information
I don't sell, rent, or trade your data. The only third parties who may receive it are Stripe (payments), Zoom (sessions), and legal authorities if required by law. Some of these providers store data overseas; by using my services, you consent to this where necessary.
Cookies
- This site may use cookies and analytics (e.g. Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use it. You can disable cookies in your browser settings. No personally identifiable information is shared with analytics providers.
Security & retention
Your information is stored on password-protected, encrypted systems. I retain personal information only as long as needed to fulfil its purpose or as required by law. Session notes are kept for 7 years after services conclude, in line with professional standards. In the event of a notifiable data breach, I'll notify affected individuals and the OAIC as required.
Your rights
You can access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and withdraw consent for marketing or sensitive information collection at any time (noting withdrawal may affect my ability to continue coaching). Contact felicity@thegrowthcanopy.com.au to exercise these rights or make a privacy complaint. I'll respond within 30 days. If unsatisfied, you can lodge a complaint with the OAIC at www.oaic.gov.au.
Terms of Service
What coaching is (and isn't)
The Growth Canopy provides life coaching, NLP-based coaching, ADHD coaching, and related modalities. Coaching is a forward-focused professional partnership. It is not therapy, counselling, psychology, or medical advice, and does not involve diagnosis or treatment of mental health conditions. If you're in crisis, please contact Lifeline (13 11 14), Beyond Blue (1300 22 4636), or your GP.
Sessions and Scheduling
Sessions are 60 minutes via Zoom, booked in advance. Cancellations or reschedules require 48 hours' written notice (email). Late cancellations and no-shows are counted as a used session. I may also reschedule with 48 hours' notice if unforeseen circumstances arise.
Payment and refunds
Payment is due before sessions begin, unless a payment plan is agreed in writing. Instalments are due on agreed dates regardless of attendance. All prices are in AUD. The Growth Canopy is not currently registered for GST.
Sessions already delivered are non-refundable. If you discontinue mid-program, unused sessions are refunded pro-rata minus a 10% administration fee. If I'm unable to continue, you'll receive a pro-rata refund for unused sessions. This policy does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Confidentiality
Everything shared in coaching is confidential, except where there's a risk of harm, illegal activity is disclosed, or the law requires it. You also agree to keep confidential any proprietary frameworks or materials shared during our work.
Intellectual property
All materials, guides, and frameworks I provide remain the intellectual property of The Growth Canopy. They're for your personal use and may not be reproduced or used commercially without written permission.
Liability
I provide coaching in good faith but don't guarantee specific outcomes. To the maximum extent permitted by law, total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid for the relevant package. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
Ending our work
Either of us can end the coaching relationship with written notice. Refunds for unused sessions apply as above. I reserve the right to terminate immediately if behaviour becomes abusive or threatening.
Disputes and governing law
We agree to attempt good-faith resolution before legal action. If unresolved within 14 days of written notice, either party may pursue court resolution. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
Updates
I may update this page from time to time. For existing clients mid-program, material changes will be communicated in writing at least 14 days before taking effect.
